Senator Schumer press exchange over GOP health care push, DACA
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Chuck Schumer of New York, answers questions from journalists at a weekly briefing, dismissing a healthcare reform bill by senators Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham that it would be worse than a bill that failed, that the Affordable Care Act instead be improved, such as by retaining cost sharing subsidy payments. Schumer urges consideration of the Dream Act by Graham and Senator Dick Durbin, and lots of things that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell seems open to. Schumer refers to a statement by White House legislative liaison Marc Short, that the administration will not insist on tying funding for a border wall with resolving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
