North Korea's Top Negotiator Departs For Talks With Japan
PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA - SEPT. 27: A senior North Korean diplomat departed here September 27 for talks with Japanese officials in China on the progress of Pyongyang’s pledged investigation into whereabouts of Japanese nationals in North Korea, including those believed to have been abducted in 1970s and 1980s from Japan by North Korean agents. Song Il Ho, ambassador for negotiations to normalize relations with Japan, is set to meet with Junichi Ihara, a senior official of Japan’s Foreign Ministry, in Shenyang, China, on Monday.
