A small group of people on an expedition in the lagoons of Baja California were gifted with an amazing experience when some friendly gray whales approached their boat. Footage filmed with a drone by Evan Brodsky shows the magical encounter, with the whales moving around and below the boat and letting themselves be touched by the tourists. Brodsky was on an expedition with https://natsoffthegrid.com/gray-whale-watching/ Nats Off the Grid in Guerrero Negro, in Baja California Sur, when he filmed the footage. He told Storyful that the lagoons of Baja California are a "highly regulated and highly protected UNESCO world heritage site," and the only place in the world where you can legally touch a gray whale. Whales approach the boats by "their own choice," Brodsky said, adding that it is illegal to attempt to touch them anywhere else.
