Denys Lasdun on concept of evolving architecture, UK; 1961
Speaking in his office, the architect Denys Lasdun talks about how, in the modern age, design needs to evolve and change over time: 'One can draw inspiration, positive architectural inspiration, of a new order from the idea of growth - of buildings coming slowly, adding to one other... It's a different concept. The grand concept belonged to the renaissance, and they did it superbly well. But architecture is related to society, and society cannot afford the renaissance concept anymore.' UK; 1961. (LMA6079R - AEVZ001J)
