Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Fare Thee Well concert Woman Holding sign reading, "Jerry is watching," July 4, 2015

Standing in a sea of Grateful Dead fans on a lawn outside Soldier Field a woman holds a sign reading, "Jerry is watching, be kind," in reference to the band's late guitarist Jerry Garcia who died in 1995. Fans sit on the grass dressed in tie-dyed clothing, and Grateful Dead shirts, and other fashions. The Grateful Dead performed five concerts, two in Santa Clara, California, and three at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois to mark the 50th Anniversary of the band. The shows, called Fare Thee Well, were to be the last shows the Grateful Dead performed.
