Storm overflows and raw sewage dumping: George Eustice interview; ENGLAND: London:INTGeorge Eustice MP (Environment Secretary) interview SOTQ - COP26 - When it comes to environmental ambitions we are world leaders / We've had reduction of over 40% / when it comes to water quality we're also acting, this gov is first gov to ask for investment / Q - NOT FAST ENOUGH- no gov in recent decades has acted on this matter, this has been around since the Victorian times / we are first gov to grapple with this properly / the first gov to make it a clear policy objective and bring forward a raft of new measures /Q - CONCERN OVER WATER BILLS - we've been very clear we want to see reduction in storm overflows / that will need to be funded and will be some increase in water bills / The other cost is to eliminate these altogether / What we can definitely do is start reliance on these /Q - EXPECTING COMPANIES TO PAY SHAREHOLDERS LESS- yes we already have this approach OFWAT are always challenging water companies in this regard / always putting pressure on them to ensure value for money /
