A suspect was rushed by a group of US Marshals and arrested after he pounded on a door and allegedly struck a deputy with a hammer at a US District Court in Portland, Oregon, on July 11, https://katu.com/news/local/man-charged-with-assaulting-federal-officer-with-hammer-during-portland-protest according to local reports . Reports said Gaines was a Texan residing in a recreational vehicle in Portland. Video filmed by Justin Yau of Portland Independent Documentarians shows the moment federal officers rushed out of the building and detained the hammer-wielding suspect. Yau told Storyful, "The male individual had been banging with his hands on the entrance door for about 10 minutes (1250-0100) July 10-July 11, after initial contact with federal officers. The individual seemed very intoxicated. Protesters in the crowd encouraged him, and someone in the crowd gave him the hammer he used to damage the door. The female individual attempting to help him claimed to be his wife. She was not arrested, but appeared very distraught afterwards that the crowd did not do more to help [her] husband avoid arrest."
