Türkiye faces heatwave as temperatures soar over 40C in some regions
TÜRKİYE - JUNE 4: Türkiye is currently grappling with intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 40°C (104°F) in various parts of the country on Tuesday (June 4).
In the southeastern province of Sanliurfa, thermometers registered a scorching 44°C.
To escape the blistering heat, citizens sought refuge in shaded areas and parks accross the country.
Despite the usual hustle and bustle, the busy streets were noticeably quieter, as people sought respite from the oppressive heat.
Some individuals, feeling the brunt of the hot weather, sought relief by cooling off in pools and the sea.
Authorities issued warnings advising citizens to avoid venturing outdoors during the peak hours of noon when the sun's rays are most intense, in order to prevent heatstroke cases.
