Congressman Crenshaw cites adverse event reports tied to off-label Lupron use

Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw says in debate on his Do No Harm in Medicaid Act, which would prohibit Federal Medicaid funding for gender transition procedures for minors, that the Center for Investigative Reporting found that the FDA received over 10,000 adverse event reports from women who took Lupron off-label as children to help them grow taller, and reported side effects included brittle bones and fractures, tooth enamel loss, cracked teeth, spinal degeneration, chronic joint pain, seizures, migraines, suicidal thoughts, cognitive issues and fertility problems, and the FDA ordered the manufacturer to say that children taking Lupron may develop new or worsening symptoms, and these children were already likely to have anxiety and depression symptoms so why make it worse, and he told them to stop talking about compassion as they were doing the opposite of compassion by tricking these kids into thinking that this might be their answer.
