US: People Enjoy Fishing As Tropical Storm Imelda Makes Landfall Near Galveston, TX
The Harris County Flood Control District said its monitoring the depression currently over the western part of the Gulf of Mexico, which is expected to drift inland Tuesday and into Wednesday creating thunderstorms for much of the week. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Harris, Galveston, Chambers, Liberty, Brazoria, Matagorda and Fort Bend counties starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday and through 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. That watch could be extended into Wednesday night as the storm system unfolds.
