PARIS, FRANCE - JUNE 10, 2024: The Pantheon in Paris will host the Paralympic Stories exhibition from June 11 to September 29.The exhibition aims to celebrate the achievements of 'differently abled' people, fostering a spirit of inspiration.Visitors will have the opportunity to explore posters, photographs, audiovisual documents, and more, showcasing the rich tradition of the Olympic movement spanning over half a century.The event will be designed to honor and accommodate a wide range of people with impairments.France will host the Paralympic Games between August 28 and September 8, following the Olympic Games scheduled from July 26 to August 11.Paris will witness a combined celebration of athleticism in August, showcasing the extraordinary talents of athletes from around the world and promoting the values of diversity and unity.As stated in the dedicated website of the event, over 4000 athletes from around the globe will compete in 549 medal events in the 2024 Paralympic Games.The Paralympic Games will feature 22 sports branches, such as para-swimming, sitting volleyball, para taekwondo, para-cycling, wheelchair basketball, and para powerlifting.Although the first Paralympic Games were organized in Rome in 1960, the first involvement of athletes with impairments in international competition dates back to 1948, according to the International Paralympic Committee.
