Charlie Sheen Talks About Making 'Platoon'

The primary difference in doing platoon was that we were portraying a historical event. Something where we had a responsibility to the veterans and the American public and the families of everybody who served and of course died over there to do it as it was. And to pay very close attention to the reality of the Vietnam War. With the help of Captain Dale Dye, who was in the USMC for 28 years. He was a lifer and he was our technical advisor and played Captain Harris. Oliver did a bang-up job, but without Dye the film is Hamburger Hill 3.
