SEA OF OKHOTSK (RELEASED ON SEPT. 30, 2024) RESTRICTION: (----EDITORIAL USE ONLY – MANDATORY CREDIT - ‘RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY / HANDOUT' - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - DISTRIBUTED AS A SERVICE TO CLIENTS, DO NOT OBSCURE LOGO----) The Russian Defense Ministry released a video of the Beibu/Interaction-2024 joint naval exercise with China in the Sea of Okhotsk on Monday (Sept. 30).According to the ministry, live ammunition was used to conduct anti-aircraft and anti-submarine drills against mock targets."The anti-submarine warfare drills were the last episode of the Beibu/Interaction-2024 Russian-Chinese naval exercise," the Ministry said in the relevant Telegram post.Russia and China on September 21st began their joint naval military exercise in the Sea of Japan."A joint group of warships of the Pacific Fleet and the Chinese Navy sailed from Vladivostok to conduct a joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise Beibu/Interaction - 2024," the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet said in a statement.Before leaving the base, servicemen took part in an opening ceremony, also attended by military chiefs from both sides, the statement said.The drill will last one week and the servicemen of the two countries will train in repelling an attack by a simulated enemy from the air, water and underwater environment, as well as maneuvering.The crew of the ships will also perform artillery firing and several combat exercises using anti-aircraft and anti-submarine weapons.(Footage by Russian Defense Ministry/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
