River Seine in Paris surpasses normal levels
PARIS, FRANCE - MARCH 7, 2024: The Seine River in Paris reached twice its usual level on Thursday, exceeding 4 meters and flooding the banks near Notre-Dame Cathedral.However, it's not expected to break previous records.In January 2018, the water level reached 5.88 meters, and in June 2016, it peaked at 6.10 meters. The record for the 100-year flood episode remains at 8.62 meters, recorded in January 1910.Additionally, there has been a change in the river's color, which has turned from its usual green hue to a brown tone in recent days.(Footage by Umit Donmez /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
