The southern lights put on a spectacular show for passengers on board a https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/member-offers/chimu-adventures-great-southern-flight.html special sightseeing flight over Antarctica on April 2. Footage filmed south of Tasmania by https://www.facebook.com/groups/auroraaustralis/posts/5509048272463344/ David Finlay shows the beautiful aurora australis in all its glory. He said the video was taken aboard a Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner plane, chartered by Chimu Adventures for the exclusive Great Southern Flight, which took off from Sydney with "over 200 passengers" on board. "I was the photographer on board the flight, and it is my job to not only take good photos and videos of the aurora, but to also teach the passengers how to take their own photos," Finlay told Storyful. "It's a dream job, but means staying awake for about 36 hours straight. But the adrenaline when you see something like this definitely helps," he said.
