3rd Batch Of Chinese Athletes Departs For Tokyo Paralympic Games
BEIJING, CHINA - AUGUST 22: The third batch of Chinese athletes departs for Tokyo Paralympic Games on August 22, 2021 in Beijing, China.
The third batch of the Chinese athletes departed Beijing on Sunday for the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
This group is made up of 109 athletes in such events as archery, boccia, blind soccer, judo, sitting volleyball, triathlon and wheelchair tennis.
The total number of the Chinese delegation is 437, including 251 athletes.
The Chinese Paralympians, with 132 women and 119 men, will compete in 20 of the 22 sports at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
The previous two batches of athletes arrived in Tokyo on Thursday and Friday and they are undergoing adaptation training.
Around 4,400 athletes from about 160 countries and regions are expected to take part in the COVID-19-delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, which will open on August 24 and run through September 5. (Footage by CCTV+ via Getty Images) (no Audio)
