80 Stranded Tourists Rescued from Forest in Venkatapuram, India

This footage was filmed and produced 27 July 2023.Eighty stranded tourists were rescued after they were trapped in a forest region near the Muthyala Dhara waterfall in southern India's Telangana.This happened in Venkatapuram mandal of Mulugu district, in the early hours on July 27.This footage shows the raging waterfall where the tourists had been trapped. It was learnt that these tourists were on their way back from a sightseeing tour through a path meant for trekking. Officials got down from their vehicle and got ready to conduct the rescue operation. The tourists were rescued safely and later, was also distributed. It continued to rain but that didn't deter the officials from conducting this rescue operation safely. According to a report, the tourists were stranded in a swollen stream in the forests as they were returning and they made a distress call by dialling 100. Police, as well as officials of the National Disaster Response Force and Disaster Response Force rushed to the spot after receiving information and tracked these tourists using mobile phone signals. Gaush Alam the Superintendent of Mulugu police, as per a report, oversaw this whole rescue operation and authorities urged the people to stay indoors as much as possible keeping in mind the heavy rainfall the place has been receiving this monsoon. He also stated that the rescued tourists were provided medical services and water after being saved. One boy sustained a minor scorpion bite but has been treated
