Man Climbs 30-Meter Tree to Rescue Stranded Cat
SUZHOU, CHINA - DECEMBER 11: This video shows the heartwarming moment a Chinese man risked his own safety to rescue a helpless cat stranded high above the ground for more than a week on December 11, 2025 in Suzhou, China. Filmed on December 11, 2025, in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, the footage captures retired veteran Zhang Yuhua climbing a nearly 30-meter-tall metasequoia tree to save a small cat trapped at the top. Using only his bare hands and no professional climbing equipment, Zhang carefully made his way up the towering tree. According to the video, the cat had been stuck there for nine days and was growing visibly weaker. After several tense moments, he reached the cat, secured it, and slowly descended, prompting applause from onlookers. Zhang later said the cat was taken to a temporary foster shelter for care and observation. (Footage by Spectee/Spectee via Getty Images UGC)
