Colombia: Planes disinfected ahead of flights resuming
BOGOTA, COLOMBIA - SEPTEMBER 03: To fight the spread of coronavirus, workers wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) are disinfecting planes at El Dorado International Airport in Colombian capital Bogota on September 03, 2020.
The country resumes international flights gradually. The El Dorado airport reopened on Tuesday under COVID-19 restrictions.
"When a plane lands at the airport a cleaning team gets on the plane and disinfect with two types of products. The first one removes ... from the surfaces such as grease and residual. Then a sanitizer is applied ...," Mauricio Pinzon a supervisor from LATAM Airlines said.
Airlines all over the world have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic after several countries imposed travel bans.
So far, the country has reported 562,113 cases and 17,889 deaths. (Footage by Juan David Moreno Gallego/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
