The Poris or Prois de Candelaria is located in the municipality of Tijarafe, on the island of La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain. It is an incoming of sea that forms a hollow of overwhelming dimensions in whose sides are bet numerous caves and some houses of more recent construction. Until about forty years ago there was practically no construction in the interior, with the exception of some laundries (now disappeared) and a well of brackish water, long appreciated, which people descended in times of drought from the midlands with pots and mules with barrels to fetch water to drink. Over time, the Proís de Candelaria became one of the favorite holiday spots for the people from Tijarafe, who built small shelters to spend the hottest summer days enjoying the sea.
