MERSIN, TURKEY - OCTOBER 04: A tradesman searching for edible mushrooms on a highland of the Taurus Mountains stumbled upon a giant one weighing more than 20 kg in Turkey’s southern province of Mersin on Monday (Oct. 4).During his search, Kamil Sezer noticed a rock-like object, but he realized that it was a large puffball mushroom.Sezer said he often goes to forage for mushrooms on highlands, but this was the first time he have encountered such a large and heavy mushroom.“This mushroom grows in the mountains at an altitude between1700 meters and1900 meters where junipers are cut. It weighs 23 kilograms and is edible,” he said.Sezer stated that he will exhibit the giant mushroom in his garden in the Mut district for a while.
