George C. Marshall’s Early Military Career: From VMI Cadet to Infantry Officer in the Philippines

Marshall beginning his military journey at the Virginia Military Institute in 1897, where he rose to cadet first captain and graduated with honors, earning a reputation for skill and knowledge that followed him throughout his career.
