Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders says in floor remarks that if there was anything the torturous murder of Minneapolis resident George Floyd in police custody had taught it was to rethink the nature of policing and to reform a broken and racist criminal justice system, but to be clear Floyd's murder was not an isolated incident but the latest in an endless series of police killings of African Americans including Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, Walter Scott and many, many, many others, and if anyone thought the police murders had just took in place in recent years when people had cell phone cameras they would obviously have been mistaken since it had gone on forever.
