Senator Welch acknowledges all despise Venezuelan dictator Maduro but questions US authorization of military strikes for needing Congress
Vermont Senator Peter Welch says in flow remarks about US military strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean that asks why warships a carrier group and support assets were in the Caribbean stating they were not there for drug interdiction but because President Trump wanted Nicolas Maduro gone and wanted regime change, noted the President said Maduro's days were numbered and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said the President wanted to keep blowing boats up until Maduro cried uncle, and posed two questions whether the United States should go to war for regime change and whether the President could through unilateral actions plunge the country into war without coming to Congress for approval under the War Powers Act.
