Young school children get taste of monastic in Tokushima Prefecture

Video footage shows elementary school students being given a taste of Buddhist spiritual training during a two-night, three-day camp that started on July 28 at Tofukuji temple in Tsurugi, Tokushima Prefecture. A group of 29 children from Tokushima Kagawa and Kanagawa prefectures took part in the training outing, keeping up with the temple’s routine of chanting prayers, housecleaning tasks and “zazen” meditation outdoors.
