Experience an Advantage for Japan’s Seasoned Paralympic Ice Hockey Team with Average Age of 42
Video footage shows Japan’s Paralympic ice hockey team working out and practicing at a rink in Okaya, Nagano Prefecture, in preparation for their first match at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, set for March 10. Featuring veterans from the 1998 Winter Paralympics, the team of 17 includes 10 players aged 40 and over, among them its 61-year-old goalie Shinobu Fukushima. The seasoned team will to rely on experience to trump pure speed and strength to beat its first opponent--South Korea. The video footage was taken by Toshiyuki Takeya of The Asahi Shimbun
