Crane moves popular 172-cm bowmouth guitarfish to new aquarium in Kochi
Video footage taken on June 23 in Tosashimizu, Kochi Prefecture, shows a captive bowmouth guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma) measuring 172 centimeters in length and weighing 45 kilograms being relocated to the new Kochi Prefectural Ashizuri Aquarium set to open in the city on July 18. It took a team of about 10 workers and a large crane to move the popular fish that has been on display since 2006 at the aquarium’s original facility after it was caught in a net off the coast.
