67-Year-Old in Nara Entertains Students on School Trip Buses with Placards
Video footage taken on May 16 in Nara shows Sadao Takahashi, 67, energetically pitching himself and his book with handwritten humorous messages targeted at students on school outings. Takahashi’s “fusuma” sliding paper door maker, Marutaka Shoten, faces a busy road connecting Yakushiji temple with central Nara and sees dozens of tour buses passing by during the spring and autumn school trip season. Passengers fortunate enough to be on buses stopped by a nearby red light get treated to Takahashi’s show of placards exhorting them to enjoy their trip, order his book online and get married to a man as manly as himself.
