Train to hot spring resort in Mie Prefecture area offers footbath for passengers

Video footage taken on Sept. 20 shows passengers aboard the Tsudoi sightseeing train soaking their feet in baths of warm water set up in one of the train’s three carriages. Operated by Kintetsu Railway Co. Ltd., the train offers riders the chance to soak their feet in “hinoki” cypress tubs as they are transported between Kintetsu Nagoya Station in Aichi Prefecture and Yunoyama-Onsen Station in Komono, Mie Prefecture, known for its hot springs. The train will run one round trip a day on weekends and on national holidays from Oct. 6 to Feb. 23. (Noboru Tomura)
