Virginia Senator Mark Warner says in a floor speech critical of President Trump's prosecution of war against Iran and impacts on fuel prices that the US relies on the Middle East for about fifteen percent of fertilizer imports already shortened by nitrogen and potash shortages from tariff policy, that President Trump responded to the energy crisis his war of choice created by posting on Truth Social that when oil prices go up we make a lot of money and by lifting sanctions on one hundred forty million barrels of Iranian crude translating to more than fourteen billion dollars for a government shooting at American soldiers and bombing US allies, making American consumers the clear losers across five or six domains while Russia and Iran are the winners.
