People Pray For Prosperity By Sticking Coins On Tuna
HYOGO, JAPAN - JAN. 8: Visitors to Nishinomiya Shrine, known as the head shrine of the Ebisu deity of economic fortune, in the western Japan city of Nishinomiya, attach coins onto a large tuna on Jan. 8, 2016 in hope of gaining more money in the coming year. A fishery cooperative in nearby Kobe began offering a tuna to the shrine in 1970 at New Year to pray for a bumper catch.
