Congresswoman Gluesenkamp Perez focuses question for privileged resolution to disapprove Chuy Garcia on ability to choose political successor

Washington State Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez says in debate on a privileged resolution that Illinois Congressman Chuy Garcia of Illinois left his open seat to his Chief of Staff as beneath the dignity of the office and incompatible with the Constitution that the matter was certainly not a game and certainly not a short strategy but long work to remain committed to the primacy of Americans' right to choose their elected representatives, nothing validated the choice to subvert an election including not the trespasses of an Administration, not the long and noble work of a public servant, not the valid bitterness of a family's suffering, not fidelity to identity politics, and they were not there to adjudicate the measure of Chuy Garcia's work or his character.
