Senator Murray asks NIH Director Bhattacharya for evidence on fetal tissue research ban

Washington State Senator Patty Murray and National Institutes of Health Director Jayanta Bhattacharya discuss for the scientific evidence for banning fetal tissue research which had led to advances from polio vaccine to IVF, to which Bhattacharya responds fetal tissue research had been declining due to availability of new alternatives including induced pluripotent stem cells and they did a study to ensure scientific impact, but MURRAY challenges him stating there are not always better alternatives and he was not presenting any evidence at a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing on modernization efforts at the agency under the second Trump Administration.
