William Hague and Maite Nkoana-Mashabane joint press conference; Maite Nkoana-Mashabane (South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation) press conference SOT- pleasure to be here on beautiful summer day / warmth of welcome makes us feel at home- have come to elevate ties following in footsteps of President Zuma last year- have come to reconfirm shared beliefs about human rights, rule of law, intern'l law - appreciative of role of UK govt with regard to peace making post conflict and reconstruction in several countries in Africa- will cooperate with issues re Commonwealth, share ideals around reforms of int'l monetary institutions, global govts, reform of UN Security Council- honour to serve on UN Security Council, voted for resolutin 1973, mainly on issues around Libya - using necessary means to protect civilians - want human rights and democracy for people of Libya / want change for better in Libya - on all other issues we have agreed to continue discussing / will share views / have discussed Security Council issues including developments in Sudan - outcome must be through peaceful means - this bilateral forum has helped elevate our relations to another height / committed to doubling our trade figures by 2015- thanks for support in SA, sponsoring young entrepreneurs / need to accelerate skills in running businesses in SA - will support you in Olympics 2012
