Kyoto Temple Awash In Fall Colors Of Crimson And Gold
KYOTO--With Japan's ancient capital ablaze in fall colors, thousands of visitors are flocking here to marvel at the heavenly spectacle.
At Tofukuji temple in Higashiyama Ward, famed for its stunning canyon scenery of glorious fall foliage, the crowds peaked during the three-day holiday weekend with an estimated 35,000 visitors per day.
Every walking path in the temple, whose history dates to the mid-13th century, was filled with camera-toting leaf peepers who were oohing and aahing.
