Peruvian music teacher creates instruments out of recycled materials for low-income children
LIMA, PERU - NOVEMBER 12: A 68-years-old Peruvian music teacher made violins out of recycled materials to help low-income talented children in the country's capital Lima.Jesus Peralta started to make instruments in the Callao neighborhood as it is less expensive for poor talented young people.While a rustic violin can cost around $150, Peralta's violin "Bottlephone" costs only $20.In 1980 Peralta began teaching music in schools and also at universities. His 18 years of experience allowed him to play with the Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti, the French pianist Richar Clayderman and the Mexican singer Armando Manzanero.Currently, the teacher plays about 17 instruments.
