Egyptian student makes portrait of Mohamed Salah Using Rubik's cubes
CAIRO, EGYPT - AUGUST 19: A young Egyptian man, Oweis Abdelhamid, 20, studying at Al-Azhar University's Faculty of Commerce in Cairo, has been creating portraits of celebrities using hundreds of Rubik's Cubes.
For the past two years, Oweis has been crafting these artworks, with his first creation gaining attention from a popular blogger on the TikTok platform. His unique approach involves assembling numerous Rubik's Cubes to form portraits of well-known figures.
Abdelhamid's latest design is the portrait of Egyptian football star, Mohamed Salah who plays as a forward for Premier League club Liverpool and captains the Egypt national team.
The Rubik's Cube is a three-dimensional mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and architecture professor Ernő Rubik. Originally known as the 'Magic Cube,' the puzzle has intrigued and challenged minds around the world.
